Is the ninth, and final, book of the course still not out yet? One might ask why it is necessary to have such a high rated Grandmaster write a book for less-advanced players?

I had read that the “fundamentals” were ok for elo players. The answer is that Yusupov offers the rare combination of tremendous chess knowledge and the ability and desire to share it. Dec 13, 8.

So my guess is that at it would be though but possible. I’m floating between mid and mid right now, though I have been having spotty perfomances with mid to mid players. I have a doubt about this book series that maybe you can solved.

Yusupov guides the reader towards a higher level of chess understanding using carefully selected positions and advice. This new understanding is then tested by a series of puzzles.


The question would be, are you getting the biggest benefit for your money? I guess so, but for all of the books it is still a lot, particularly if Zrtur end up not using them.

I think it will be a good way to find your weaknesses and work on them, and not waste time on things you know e.

Each chapter starts with the introduction chdss a theme followed bui,d progressively more difficult examples and finally exercises to solve with detailed solutions. So, any idea on who the Fundamental Series is aimed at?

However, Yusupov’s books are designed for use in a 3 year long formal chses instruction program. At the end of the day the main problem I see here is that when I fail an exercise I have to put it into the computer to see if I was really wrong, and I do not like it.

He has won everything there is to win in chess except for the World Championship. As someone who really likes tests and scores, it is a little hard for me to let go of the feeling of being unfairly penalized when a computer artkr that my move was just as good as Yusupov’s. I don’t know why people always think books are expensive And I based the review in the first two books on ‘the fundamentals’ and the final test of the final book of ‘mastery’.
